Notre-Dame cathedral on the Ile de la Cité is a masterpiece of the Gothic art and it took about 200 years to build it (from 1163 to 1334). Inside, 29 chapels are joined around the 5 naves. The portals are topped by the famous Kings’Gallery composed of 28 statues representing the kings of Juda and Israël. Above, there is the unique rose window of 10 metres in diameter. The towers are 69 metres high and when you reach the top (allowed and not free), you have a fantastic view on the capital. The archaeological crypt under the square is one of the biggest in Europe with its Gallo-Roman foundations ! On the square , you can see several acrobats but the place keeps being famous for everyone because of Victor Hugo’s books and above all « Notre-Dame de Paris ».
