Christian Boltanski “Personnes”
Monumenta 2010
Christian Boltanski, key figure of French contemporary art, went on to develop an international career in the 1970s that has placed him in the ranks of the world’s leading contemporary artists. His artistic work is haunted by the problems of death, memory and loss; he often seeks to memorialize the anonymous and those who have disappeared.
Individual memory and the passage of time are recurring themes in the work of Christian Boltanski, who has devised “Personnes” especially for the Monumenta exhibition at the Grand Palais. In this installation combining visual impact and sound, he tackles the question of destiny and the ineluctability of death.

Versailles musical water shows
Grandes eaux musicales
Every year, from spring to automn, the stately park of the Versailles Castel hosts the "Grandes Eaux Musicales".
Come discover and rediscover this delightful show !
The strollers will enjoy wandering around this majestic garden that Louis the XIV relished, and refreshingly walking around the ponds and precious foutains, made, for some hours, as splendid and rich as they were in the XVIIth century, by the ancient craft of hydrant men. Cascades, water jets, water spears and gurgling waters will loom out in an aquatic and transparent ballet, accompanied by music.
